What is CPR & AED?
CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. It’s an emergency procedure that combines chest compressions and rescue breaths to manually preserve brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous circulation and breathing in a person experiencing cardiac arrest.
AED stands for Automated External Defibrillator. It’s a portable electronic device that analyzes the heart rhythm and, if necessary, delivers an electrical shock (defibrillation) to help restore a normal heartbeat. AEDs are designed to be used by people with minimal training.
